For solos and generations of all abilities there are technical and less strenuous route choices. There are miles of tracks unmarked on OS maps surveyed for this course to provide more route options and give new interest – local advantage? Maybe not!

Facilities at the McLaren include changing and hot showers. Families and friends can enjoy the leisure facilities or explore Callander blossoming in the springtime.

Controls 
There are 30 Controls with the aim to go to as many as possible in any order. Each Control Point will have a Sport Ident ‘Dibber’ Punch. The location of this will be clear from the descriptions of each checkpoint given to you at the start. Red/White marker tape may be used to re-inforce this if necessary

Results & Prizes
Scores will be displayed as soon as they have been calculated and checked.
Final Results will be posted on our website www.smbo.org.uk . Prizes may be awarded to winners in each class with sufficient entrants.

Equipment 
You must have:

a roadworthy and well maintained bike
a cycling helmet – Cycling ANSI, BSI, Snell (not climbing or canoeing) – must be worn at all times
a first aid kit of at least a large wound dressing and bandage
a puncture repair kit, pump and simple tool kit
a waterproof/windproof jacket
food and drink for 3 hours
a whistle and compass
a bell (to warn other trail users of your approach)
a mobile phone

Sorry to disappoint anyone but we need your entries early to make sure it’s worthwhile to run the event!!

A road orienteering (aka Lanequest) event based between Selkirk and Kelso, on the fabulous roads of the Scottish Borders.

This event is run in the same was as Mountain Bike Orienteering events, but is run on the roads! Bring on the lycra!!  :)

You will see some spectacular scenery and ride some roads that will feel like your on private roads, they are that quiet.

Really will be a fun event, and a great way to kick of your training for the year
